If you previously received accommodations at another institution, please submit a copy of your accommodation letter as part of your documentation. This information helps us better understand your prior accommodations and support needs.

All prospective students, including visiting students from other institutions and dual enrollment students, should complete the College’sÌý. Students with disabilities participate in the same degree and certificate programs as all 17³Ô¹ÏÍø students and are not subject to any additional admission requirements.
Important Information to know
- Students with disabilities follow the same admissions process as all 17³Ô¹ÏÍø students.
- There are no additional admission requirements for Disability Services.
- You do not need to be registered for classes to begin the accommodations process.
- We encourage you to start early so accommodations are in place before classes begin.
If you previously received accommodations in high school or at another college, that information can help us better understand your needs. However, college accommodations are determined through a separate review process.
Why We Encourage Students to Start Early
Starting the accommodations process before classes begin helps ensure:
- Documentation can be reviewed in a timely manner
- Appointments can be scheduled before the semester starts
- Accommodations are approved and ready when classes begin
- Students can start the term with the support they need
Transitioning to College
The transition to college is an exciting time that comes with many changes! The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, Amended 2008) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which apply to postsecondary education, are very different from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which covers grades K-12. This means that some adjustment of the perspectives of students, parents, and instructors is necessary when transitioning from high school to college. The Office of Disability Services staff are here to provide guidance and support to students as they navigate these changes and become self-advocates.
