Kids in cooking class

(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—From Artificial Intelligence Designing and Developing to Art Workshops, from Babysitter Training with CPR to Cooking and Baking, to Model United Nations and Python Programming, there is something to appeal to almost any child or young teen’s interest at  at Delaware County Community College.

The camps are for kids ages 6 through 14 and will run from Monday through Thursday, June 15 through July 30, except for Week 1 which will run from Monday through Wednesday only. Most camp offerings are held at the College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063), with limited weeks available at the Downingtown Center (100 Bond Road, Downingtown, PA 19335) and the Southeast Center (409 N. Lansdowne Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026).

Please note: Full-week registration is required (no partial week options). All camps are based on enrollment. Proof of age may be required, and no exceptions are made. Schedules and hours range for the camps but children have the option to stay all day for an additional fee (campers must bring their own lunches). For more information on camp schedules and to register, call 610-359-5025 or visit dccc.edu/kidscamp. The College has held Summer Kids Camps for more than 18 years and youth programs since 1996.

Unemployed caregivers in Delaware County can apply for up to $1,000 in credits toward a child’s summer camp fees thanks to the Delaware County Council’s approval of the . The program helps reduce barriers experienced by caregivers who are struggling to find work—a situation made more challenging by the summer closure of schools and the difficulty in finding adequate childcare. Applications for Delco Strong grants scholarships can be found at .

Limited camp scholarships are also available through the Delaware County Workforce Development Board. The scholarships are designed to enable middle school-age students to develop skills in some of Pennsylvania’s High Priority Occupations. Many of the Summer Kids Camps at 17³Ô¹ÏÍø qualify for this scholarship. To find out more about this grant and to apply, contact pscepansky@dccc.edu
