New Media Lab

New Media Lab is Delaware County Community College’s student-run podcast. We feature campus events, achievements, and initiatives. We discuss the latest in popular culture and we celebrate students’ creative works of short fiction, nonfiction poetry and art. We also work to shine a spotlight on our communities in Delaware and Chester Counties.

The gap between the classroom and the workforce just got smaller.
Delaware County Community College’s New Media Lab is dedicated to cultivating opportunities for students to sharpen their talents in media production, interviewing, content editing, and so much more!
Whether you’re a seasoned creator or just starting out, NML provides the space to grow. NML’s motto is, “We’re All Beginners!” It’s about the mindset of constant learning.
The New Media Lab epitomizes 17³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s ability to create humanities-centered initiatives that develop workforce-ready skills for students across all college disciplines. Established in 2016, NML is a student organization whose mission is to actively engage the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø community in creating and distributing digital content covering popular culture, campus happenings, and original creative works. As of Spring, NML has built a strong and active membership with a growing presence on Instagram and an ongoing plan to produce long-form full episodes on popular podcasting platforms including Apple Music and Spotify, along with YouTube, as well as making short form mini-clips available through Instagram Reels.
All aspects of pre-production, production and post-production are taught through a peer-to-peer learning environment. NML Alumni acquire leadership, teambuilding and workflow management skills, in addition to media production. Past students of the New Media Lab (NML) have come from a wide range of majors and have gone on to apply their skills across diverse professions, including electricians, realtors, home health care workers, teachers, immigration advocates, publicists, television producers, and camera operators.
